This symposium was a follow-up to the First International Symposium on Fretting Fatigue held at the University of Sheffield in April, 1993.

The symposium featured keynote lectures by researchers from numerous countries. In addition, sessions featured invited paper as well.

A total of 40 papers were presented that represent a broad spectrum of research and development activities.

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) recently published a Special Technical Publication (STP 1367) containing the papers that were presented at the symposium. The ASTM STP 1367 entitled Fretting Fatigue: Current Technology and Practices was edited by Drs. D.W. Hoeppner, V. Chandrasekaran and C.B. Elliott.
